MAGCOM forms partnership with MCU

MAGCOM, Mahatma Gandhi College of Mass Communication, Kozhikode, Kerala, has forged a partnership with Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU), Bhopal, the oldest journalism university in Asia.

MCU offers a range of media courses across its various centers. Collaboration with MCU enables MAGCOM to introduce several media courses under MCU for students in Kerala and other states in South India.

The MoU signing for academic collaboration took place between A K Anuraj, Director of MAGCOM, and Prof. (Dr.) K G Satheesh, Vice Chancellor of the University. The signing ceremony was witnessed by influential figures such as P S Rakesh, Secretary of the Calicut Press Club; M Sudheendra Kumar, member of the Governing Body of MAGCOM; U K Kumaran, writer and senior journalist; K F George, senior journalist; V Mithran, journalist; Haridasan Palayil, senior journalist, and Hareesh Katayaprath, Chairman of the Governing Body of MAGCOM.

MAGCOM, Mahatma Gandhi College of Mass Communication, Kozhikode, Kerala, has established a strong academic association with NIT Calicut, one of India’s leading engineering colleges.

The MoU between MAGCOM and NIT Calicut was signed in the presence of V Muraleedharan, Central Minister. A K Anuraj, Director of MAGCOM, and Shamasundara M S, Registrar of NIT Calicut, signed the MoU. The signing ceremony took place in the esteemed senate hall of NIT Calicut and was attended by notable individuals such as P T A Rahim, MLA; Dr. Prasad Krishna, NIT Director; Dr. M K Ravi Varma and Dr. Preeti Navaneet, NIT Professors, as well as various other distinguished invitees.

MAGCOM and JNU forge academic collaboration

MAGCOM, Mahatma Gandhi College of Mass Communication, Kozhikode, Kerala, the pioneering institution in the media sector, has entered into a significant academic collaboration with the esteemed Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi.

This milestone agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), paves the way for a wide range of opportunities, including the introduction of cutting-edge, job-oriented media courses, joint programs and faculty & student exchanges. Notably, MAGCOM becomes the first college in South India to offer courses in collaboration with JNU.

The MoU was signed by A K Anuraj, Director of MAGCOM, and Prof. (Dr.) Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice Chancellor of JNU. The ceremony was attended by notable personalities like Dr. Reeta Sony A L, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, Dr. Shuchi Yadav, Associate Professor at the Centre for Media Studies, School of Social Science, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof. Manukonda Rabindranath, Centre for Media Studies, School of Social Sciences, Dr. N R Madhu, Mentor of MAGCOM, Praful Kelkar, Senior Journalist & Social Commentator, and J Nandakumar, Patron of MAGCOM.
